In Path of Exile, some players said that they just can’t stick to a single build to try to get to endgame, but they really want to beat shaper/elder and so on since they’ve never done that before.
There is only one real answer. Figure out roughly how much currency you make on average per like 2 – 5 hours (the usual poe session play time). find or create a build that can do endgame reliably without much player skill with the amount of currency that you make in about 40 hours (if you can find anything at all).
Power through leveling to 90 – 95 which should take around 30 – 40 hours. buy the gear you need for endgame with the currency you made leveling to 90’s.
Once your build is largely complete, dedicate all your time entirely to gaining access to the endgame content by doing up your atlas or buying endgame boss maps like uber atziri or shaper guardian pieces.
Once you’ve completed them a few times (or failed for that matter), you will know where you are lacking and can spend some currency to fix those areas in your character if its not simply broken by design. if your build cannot be improved in those lacking areas and it is costing you being able to complete endgame, time to make a new build and restart the process.
over the next 10 – 20 hours of doing endgame content, your character will become more and more proficient at completing that content as your skill as a player increases and your characters stats increases from levels and currency investment. by the end of 60 character hours, you should have a very capable character.
the motivation to do all this is totally dependent on what you want to do when you go from one stage to the next. if you finish getting to mid 90’s and you still want to just spam maps then there’s no need to force yourself out of that.
Hopefully the above guide will be helpful to you.
